SA’s COVID-19 cases surpass 2.3 million

The national death toll from COVID-19-related illnesses now stands at 67 080 after 221 people passed away since the last report.

Gauteng recorded 2 617 of the total number of cases reported, taking the province’s accumulative number of infections since the outbreak to 818 859.

The country tested 26 407 people in the past 24 hours, translating into a 27.3% positivity rate.
