Police Spokesperson, Malcolm Pojie, says preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was awakened in the early morning and realised she had been raped.
The suspect and his mom were staying as guests at the house. The girl is alleged to have reported the matter to her mother.
The mother accompanied the teenager to the police station to report the alleged rape.
The suspect was arrested and is currently in detention.
He is expected to make his first court appearance in the Ladismith Magistrate’s Court soon.
