Gauteng recording high number of infections
Gauteng is consistently a high-risk COVID-19 region. The province has 20 642 active cases according to the Health Department’s last report. The province also accounts for at least half of the daily COVID-19 cases nationally.
This emerged at the provincial Command Council briefing in Johannesburg today. Pretoria, the Sedibeng region and Johannesburg are among the 16 areas flagged as hotspots. And people’s non-compliance is a cause for concern.
