Parliament’s Standing Committee on the Auditor-General maintains that they are hard at work ensuring that there is accountability in local government. It says wasteful expenditure continues to plaque many municipalities in the country.
The Auditor-General in her report said there was very little supervision and monitoring taking place in many local government entities.
The country is scheduled to go to the polls in local government elections on October 27th.
