South Africa has recorded 7 632 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 698 605.
This increase represents a 20.2% positivity rate. The majority of new cases on Monday are from KwaZulu-Natal (33%), followed by Western Cape (21%).
The national Department of Health has also reported a further 163 COVID-19 related deaths, bringing total fatalities to 79 584 to date.
