South Africa has recorded 10 748 new COVID-19 cases, with KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) recording 31% of the infections. The province recorded 3 369 new infections taking KZN’s total cases to 454 150.
The total recorded cases in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic stands at 2 690 973.
A further 170 people have succumbed to COVID-19 related illnesses, with total fatalities now at 79 421.
Latest NICD stats:

The NICD says that there has been an increase of 219 hospital admissions in the past 24 hours.
The country has also surpassed 16 million COVID-19 tests.
