The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says more than 75 000 people have now died from COVID 19-related complications in South Africa after another 199 deaths were recorded on Monday.
The NICD says 6 787 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the latest reporting period and the test positivity rate remains above 20% – or four times the rate at which the spread of the virus is considered to be under control.
