South Africa has recorded 13 777 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24-hours, with the Western Cape recording the highest number of new infections with 4 097.
A further 458 COVID-19 related deaths have also been reported by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD).
Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal have both reported around 2 700 new cases.
The country has conducted 15 093 333 tests since the pandemic reached our shores at the beginning of 2020.

The Western Cape Department of Health says the province is showing early signs that indicate that the third wave of COVID-19 infections is flattening in the province. The province is also still on a drive to encourage all eligible citizens to register for and receive their vaccine doses.
