South Africa has recorded 15 939 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 2 269 179.
Gauteng continues to report a large chunk of the cases, having recorded 6 013 infections overnight.
The country has also recorded 413 new COVID-19 related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 66 385.
Recoveries now stands at 2 009 456.
