Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula and his Western Cape counterpart, Daylin Mitchell, are meeting with taxi operators in Brackenfell in a bid to quell a recent spike in shootings.

At least 14 people have been killed and scores of others wounded in the latest taxi violence.

In the latest incident, three people were shot dead and a five-month-old baby wounded when gunmen shot a taxi in Harare in Khayelitsha.

Mbalula is expected to address a media briefing this afternoon on the outcome of the talks.
