The former Transnet board member and Gupta family associate Iqbal Sharma has been granted R500 00 bail by the High Court in Bloemfontein.
This after Sharma was denied bail last month by the Bloemfontein Magistrate court.

He is amongst 17 accused persons and companies that are implicated in defrauding the Free State Agriculture Department, R24.9 million in 2011.
Judge Joseph Mhlambi says Sharma is not a flight risk and his bail conditions will limit any risk that will make him not stand trial.
“The appellant must appear in the Bloemfontein Regional Court on the 6 September 2021 at 8 am. Two, the appellant shall reside at his residential address in Sandton Gauteng, The appellant must report to the Sandton police station on Mondays. Wednesdays and Fridays between 8 am and 8 pm. The appellant is prohibited to apply for any passport” Judge Joseph Mhlambi said.
