As of Friday the Department of Health says the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 550 724.
The total of tests conducted is 9 939 695 with 27 622 tests completed since the last report.
The department says, a further 49 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape one, Free State three,
Gauteng 16, Kwa-Zulu Natal 22, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga one, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and
Western Cape 6 which brings the total to 52 946 deaths.
The government conveyed condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers
who treated the deceased.
The cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 475 398, representing a recovery rate of 95%.
The number of health care workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol remains 269 102.
