Emergency services are on high alert to ensure the safety of Joburg residents as rainy weather conditions persist across the region.

City of Johannesburg Emergency services spokesperson, Nana Radebe, says no major incidents have been reported but has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution, as the roads are wet and visibility is low.
“Keep a safe distance and do not cross flooded roads. And those that are in low-lying areas, we will continuously check the river levels and see if they are high enough for them to move but for now, it is still safe and we will await any alerts from the weather service in terms of flooding.”
