The AmaXhosa Royal family is mourning the sudden passing of AmaXhosa Queen Nozamile Sigcawu. She was the widow of King Xolilizwe and mother of the late King Mpendulo Calvin Zwelonke Sigcawu.
The Queen died on Sunday night on the way to Frere Hospital in East London.
King Zwelonke Sigcawu’s death reported:
Royal Family spokesperson, Prince Zolile Burns-Ncamashe says further details will be communicated after the necessary customary protocols have been observed.
“We have received this saddening news with a great sense of pain. We will converge as the family following all the customary protocols and processes after which then to advise the nation as well as the leadership of government and any other body.”
