Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga has tested positive for the coronavirus. The country has registered more than 111 000 infections so far and nearly 1 900 COVID19-related fatalities.
Nearly 80 000 people have recovered.
Odinga is also the former Prime Minister of Kenya. He was admitted to the Nairobi hospital on 9 March.
He has been on the campaign trail because Kenya is about to go for a referendum on the new constitution. Odinga is one of the main proponents of a change in the constitution and he had come from the court of Kenya. The court is one of the hotspots for COVID-19.
The 76 years-old, who has mild symptoms, will remain in isolation.
